Precautions for installing outdoor LED display

The outdoor LED display has a large area, and the design of its steel structure must consider many factors such as foundation, wind load, magnitude, waterproof, dustproof, ambient temperature, and lightning protection. Auxiliary equipment such as power distribution cabinets, air conditioners, axial fans, lighting, etc. need to be placed in the steel structure, as well as maintenance facilities such as horse tracks and ladders. The entire outdoor screen structure should meet the protection level below IP65. In general, the things to consider when installing an outdoor LED display are:

(1) When the display screen is installed outdoors, it is often exposed to the sun and rain, the wind blows the dust cover, and the working environment is harsh. If the electronic equipment is wet or severely damp, it will cause a short circuit or even fire, causing failure or fire, resulting in losses.

(2) The display screen may also be attacked by strong electricity and strong magnetism caused by lightning.

(3) The ambient temperature changes are extremely large. When the display screen is working, it will generate a certain amount of heat. If the ambient temperature is too high and the heat dissipation is not good, it may cause the integrated circuit to work abnormally or even be burned, thus causing the display system to fail to work normally.

(4) The audience is wide, the sight distance is required to be far, and the field of view is required to be wide; the ambient light changes greatly, especially when it is exposed to direct sunlight.

In view of the above requirements, the outdoor display must be installed when:

(1) The screen body and the junction of the screen body and the building must be strictly waterproof and leak-proof; the screen body needs to have good drainage measures, and in the event of water accumulation, it can be discharged smoothly.

(2) Install lightning protection devices on display screens or buildings. The main body of the display screen and the casing are well grounded, and the grounding resistance is less than 3 ohms, so that the large current caused by lightning can be discharged in time.

(3) Install ventilation equipment to cool down, so that the internal temperature of the screen is between -10℃~40℃. An axial flow fan needs to be installed on the back of the screen to dissipate heat.

(4) Select industrial-grade integrated circuit chips with a working temperature between -40°C and 80°C to prevent the display from being unable to start when the temperature is too low in winter.

(5) It has the characteristics of “five preventions” of direct sunlight, dustproof, waterproof, high temperature resistance and circuit short circuit prevention.
